On Sunday, February 23, 2020 at 0133 hours, Matthew R. Cristales, 23, from Annandale, NJ was stopped on State Route 22 for motor vehicle violations. During the stop, the officer detected the odor of Marijuana. A search of the car located Marijuana and a grinder. Cristales was arrested and charged with possession of under 50 grams of Marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and traffic summonses for possession of CDS in a motor vehicle and failure to maintain lane. After being processed at headquarters, Cristales was released. "The filing of criminal charges is merely one step in the process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law."
