Solicitation without permits
On Monday, April 20, 2020 at approximately 1102 hours, the Readington Township Police Department received a call from a township resident in reference to individuals soliciting driveway paving and sealcoating jobs. Patrol officers responded to the area and located the suspects in question on Rockafellows Mill Rd. The individuals were identified as John Edward Wells of Fairless Hills, Pa and Saul Hicks of Camp Hill, Pa. During the investigation both individuals admitted to soliciting numerous residents for driveway paving and sealcoating jobs. Wells and Hicks did not have any valid permits to solicit work at the current time. Both individuals were charged accordingly with a Readington Township Ordinance for soliciting without permits and released from police custody. The filing of criminal charges is merely a step in the criminal justice process. A defendant is presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
